چکیده

Effects of histatin-derived peptides immobilization by tresyl chloride-activation technique for MC3T3-E1 cellular responses on titanium (Ti) were evaluated. cultured sandblasted and acid-etched Ti disks immobilized with peptides, including histatin-1, JH8194, mixed histatin-1 JH8194. Surface topography morphology examined using a scanning electron microscope. Elemental composition conformational surface energy dispersive X-ray fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, respectively. Cellular adhesion, proliferation, osteogenesis-related genes, alkaline phosphatase activity The results showed that successfully surface. Cell attachments coated groups are higher than control. Histatin-1 achieved the significantly highest proliferation. Histatin-derived improved osteogenesis related-gene expression (p<0.05). This study suggested enhanced might be able to promote activities around dental implants.

Interactions of histatin 5 and histatin 5-derived peptides with liposome membranes: surface effects, translocation and permeabilization.

A number of cationic antimicrobial peptides, among which are histatin 5 and the derived peptides dhvar4 and dhvar5, enter their target cells and interact with internal organelles. There still are questions about the mechanisms by which antimicrobial peptides translocate across the membrane. We used a liposome model to study membrane binding, translocation and membrane-perturbing capacities of h...

Effects of histatin 5 and derived peptides on Candida albicans.

Three anti-microbial peptides were compared with respect to their killing activity against Candida albicans and their ability to disturb its cellular and internal membranes. Histatin 5 is an anti-fungal peptide occurring naturally in human saliva, while dhvar4 and dhvar5 are variants of its active domain, with increased anti-microbial activity. dhvar4 has increased amphipathicity compared with ...

Titanium Immobilized with an Antimicrobial Peptide Derived from Histatin Accelerates the Differentiation of Osteoblastic Cell Line, MC3T3-E1

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of titanium immobilized with a cationic antimicrobial peptide (JH8194) derived from histatin on the biofilm formation of Porphyromonas gingivalis and differentiation of osteoblastic cells (MC3T3-E1). The titanium specimens (Ti) were immobilized with JH8194, according to the method previously described. The colonization of P. gingivalis on J...

Effects of Surface Viscoelasticity on Cellular Responses of Endothelial Cells

Background: One area of nanoscience deals with nanoscopic interactions between nanostructured materials and biological systems. To elucidate the effects of the substrate surface morphology and viscoelasticity on cell proliferation, fractal analysis was performed on endothelial cells cultured on nanocomposite samples based on silicone rubber (SR) and various concentrations of organomodified nano...
